Florida’s Spring fishing season is just around the corner and we have enjoyed great weather the last few days. The weather was almost 80 today, the tide was moving in fast and I was ready to go fishing. The water has started to warm up which means the fish will be moving around and hungry. I found a 27 inch Redfish ready for ambush behind a rock pile at the mouth of the River, feeding on the incoming tide and he wasn’t alone. He was mean and hungry and provided an excellent fight on light weight tackle. Spring offers the best fishing Florida has to offer. The Sea Trout season will open again in a few days, Redfish will be moving back in on shallow flats and the migration of Cobia are heading our way. The Spanish Mackerel have already started to show up in the last couple of days. So yes, all bragging aside, come enjoy the weather and the great fishing! Leave the snow and cold weather behind and enjoy Florida fishing at it’s best!
